Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 6th January 2017: Continuing its long-standing partnership with NOOR, Nikon is proud to announce the 2017 Nikon-NOOR Academy programme of masterclasses for aspiring photojournalists. Four-day workshops with NOOR photographers will be provided free-of-charge to selected participants in the Netherlands, Germany, France and the UK in the coming year. The series will kick off in the spring and calls for applications are now open.
Nikon Europe has partnered with the renowned Amsterdam-based NOOR collective of documentary photographers since 2008, supporting group projects and bringing yearly masterclasses to the furthest reaches of Europe – offering opportunities in regions where professional photography training is limited. This year’s programme offers the chance for photographers to work intensively with NOOR tutors closer to home, with workshops being held in Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris and Manchester. Photographers who are resident in the countries where the classes take place will be eligible to attend.
Each workshop has only 15 participants, who will be guided by their NOOR tutors through portfolio reviews, developing and editing their photographic stories, and learning how to navigate the international photo market. It is a rare opportunity for photographers starting out in their careers to work closely with professionals and develop a strong network of contacts.
